They saw a slender figure standing upon a nearby hill with her right hand in the air. A blinding white light radiated from her very being, penetrating all darkness, and beams of white light issued forth from her raised hand. The goblins, ogres, trolls and swamp ghouls fell to their knees with their hands over their eyes, trying in vain to escape the white light. The slender figure floated in to the air, carried by seven pure white swans, and they placed her carefully on the snow in front of Durg-Baulder and his firbolg guards.

The Elfin Queen and Mouse.

During the spring and summer months a trip to Mouse's house was an event to look forward to, because the picnics in the clearing by the stream started in the morning and went on until after dark. Mouse was always welcoming visitors and occasionally the Elfin Queen herself would pay a visit to talk about the affairs of the Greenwood forest.
