For Fear of the Forest

A book for children of all ages.

This tale concerns very powerful women, but there are none more powerful than the Elfin Queen. She must slay the Black Sorcerer and defeat his immense army of demons, or else her husband the Greenwood King and their son Prince Edmund Tressach will die, leaving the woodland elves to be enslaved or massacred. But no weapon exists that can destroy him.

The Elfin Queen’s fight to save the kingdom begins when she casts an unbreakable protection spell over the forest and castle, thwarting the sorcerer’s initial attempt to take the Greenwood throne, but he retreats to his fortress across the sea to prepare his army for the final battle.

Cadeyrn, the Greenwood King, transforms himself into a swamp ghoul, the Black Sorcerer’s closest ally, and goes alone to the hellish fortress to gather information regarding the imminent invasion. When she is told about her son-in-law’s recklessness Ailionora Flidais, the Elfin Queen's mother and mistress of the mysterious and mighty Guardians of the Shadows, sets sail to save him and make him understand that he cannot destroy the most deadly living sorcerer.

For fear of the forest being burned to the ground and replaced with goblin shacks, ogre hovels, troll holes and swamp ghoul bogs, Fire, Water, Air and Earth are summoned to forge a lethal black sword to end the terror of the lethal Black Sorcerer; a sword that only the valiant Captain of the Elves, Edmund Tressach, can wield.

As the enemy’s countless ships appear on the horizon, the heavily outnumbered elves make ready to defend their homeland.
